PersuasionsBastards in the Pulpit Based on Hebrews 12:8, Bastards in the Pulpit is a revelation of God’s righteousness, holiness and wrath. It is an accountability check for those who have entered in His vineyard by some other way other than through the Good Shepherd. They are hirelings — men called by men, men taught, selected and ruled by men. They are those who are called of God, but have refused His way, His chastisement and His will for their life. Such have gone to establish ministries bearing His name, yet void of His Spirit. Bastards in the Pulpit is an admonishment for the flock of Jesus Christ to check out the shepherd you are allowing to shepherd you. It is to alert you to your responsibility to work out your own salvation in fear and trembling and to know your God. In this, you will not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, or by men who lie in wait to deceive. Last of all, it is a warning to return to our first love and to repent of the apostasy that has grasped the heart of God’s shepherds before the return of Jesus Christ. Though we realize that until the Lord Himself descends from heaven to restore all things, we must be a voice of one crying in the wilderness in the city, in the state and in the nation.
